2011 UTME: Jamb's Official Results/Analysis

At exactly 12.00pm today, Friday, 24th June, 2011, The Joint Admission And Matriculation Board-JAMB announced the official release of the 2011 UTME result. The result is tragic to some candidates and as well meritorious to some folks.     * candidates who scored between 200-249..............495,426 candidates
    * Candidates who scored between 250-269..............67,732
    * Candidates who scored between 270-299 marks........31, 444 Candidates
    * Candidates whose reults are still under investigation.....7, 504 candidates
    * Candidates involved in exam malpractices(cancelled)......15, 160, i.e about 1.014%.
    * Candidates with invalid and incomplete results...........28,069 Candidates
Gender Analysis Of 2011 UTME
Further analysis of the application by gender showed that 55.78% applicants are males while 44.22% candidates are females. These figures showed that 660,522 candidates are females while 833,082 are males.
Handicap Analysis Of 2011 UTME
Furthermore A total of 200 visually impaired candidates sat for the exams, 197 prisoners from mainly Kaduna State and Ikoyi Prison in Lagos State sat for the 2011 UTME exams. Imo State has highest number of applicants in the exams as the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, got the least applicant.
Statement From Jamb Boss
According to Jamb Boss, Ojerinde, the results were posted on-line by 12.00 pm (today)Friday, said, the results are on the internet, as I am speaking with you. He advised that, “candidates do not need to buy any scratch card, but can utilize the scratch card earlier used during registration for the exam.

A total of 1,493,604 candidates who sat for the UTME examination are seeking for admission into the 500, 000 available spaces in the nation’s tertiary institutions. A critical observation/study of this trend shows about an unbelievable 33% chance of admission per head!!!
